Our Mission

Boldmere PTA exists to enrich every child’s school experience by strengthening the partnership between families, staff, and the wider community. We raise funds to enhance learning, support events that bring our school community together, and provide practical help where it’s most needed. Our mission is to create opportunities, remove barriers, and ensure every child feels included, valued, and supported. We champion transparency, collaboration, and kindness in everything we do, recognising that when we work together, our school thrives.

Who We Are

We’re an independent, registered charity run by parent and carer volunteers. We raise funds and run activities that benefit the school community. Our volunteers are not employed by the school—most have full-time jobs elsewhere and give their time to support our children’s education.

Since our inception, Boldmere PTA has successfully organised numerous events, raising substantial funds that have directly improved school resources and facilities, supporting both students and teachers alike.

Boldmere PTA has fostered a vibrant school community, enhancing children’s educational experiences through active parental involvement and meaningful fundraising initiatives.

What We Do

We fund agreed extras that enrich school life (equipment, experiences, community events).

Organise volunteer-led events to build community and raise funds.

Make school life even more brilliant.

What We Don’t Do

To keep things transparent and help everyone understand our role, here are a few things the PTA is not responsible for:

• We don’t set the curriculum, choose teaching resources, decide school trips, staffing, or site matters.
These are responsibilities of the School and Local Authority, not the PTA.

• We don’t influence how the school spends its core budget.
Decisions about staffing, curriculum, resources, and school finances rest with the Headteacher and Governors. The PTA raises additional funds to enhance school life, not to direct school spending.

• We don’t get involved in teaching, staffing, or school policies.
All educational and operational decisions remain with school leadership.

• We don’t manage or supervise children.
At events, children remain the responsibility of their parents or carers unless the school has arranged otherwise

• We don’t fundraise for individual families or specific personal situations.
Our support is for the whole school community in a fair and transparent way.

• We don’t make profit or act as a business.
Every penny raised is reinvested back into the school to benefit the children.

How Funding Works

The process:

1️⃣ Requests come via the school
Funding requests are submitted to the PTA by the school leadership team on behalf of teaching staff. This helps ensure requests align with school priorities.
2️⃣ The PTA reviews the request
The PTA committee reviews each request against our constitution and charity guidelines to ensure funds are used appropriately.
3️⃣ Decisions are made by vote
Requests are discussed at a PTA committee meeting and approved through a committee vote.
4️⃣ Transparency and reporting
We aim to be transparent about how funds are used. Approved funding and major purchases are shared with the school community.
5️⃣ Fair and meaningful distribution
Our goal is to distribute funds fairly and support projects that provide meaningful benefit to pupils.
