Our Annual Fireworks Night – A Boldmere Favourite
Every year, our PTA Fireworks Night brings together more than 1,500 children, families, staff, and friends of the school for an evening filled with excitement, colour, and community spirit. What began as a modest gathering has grown into one of the area’s most loved family events—now raising over £7,000 to support school projects and enrich our children’s experience.
The atmosphere is always something special. From the moment the gates open, visitors enjoy fresh food, drinks, music, colourful lights, marshmallow toasting, sweets, snacks, and a whole range of flashing toys that light up the playground. Our team works hard to create a warm, inclusive environment where families can relax, explore, and soak up the fun before the main event.
And of course, the highlight is our fantastic fireworks display, designed to be both spectacular and family-friendly. Every year we hear from children who proudly say it’s their “favourite night of the year”—a reminder of why we put so much passion into making it memorable.
Behind the scenes, a huge amount of effort goes into planning and running the event. PTA volunteers, staff from both the Infant and Junior schools, and our wider community play vital roles—from carrying equipment and setting up lighting to cooking, stewarding, and keeping families safe. It truly is a team effort, and the success of the event is thanks to every single person who gets involved.
Our Fireworks Night doesn’t just light up the sky—it lights up our school community, bringing people together and raising invaluable funds that directly benefit the children of Boldmere.
