A Christmas Fair Powered by Community in 2025 ๐ŸŽ„

As the lights came down and the last stall was packed away, one thing was very clear: this yearโ€™s PTA Christmas Fair was powered entirely by community spirit.

We went into the event without an event lead and, truthfully, without quite enough volunteers. There were momentsโ€”right up until openingโ€”when we were very close to closing some stalls altogether. But we made a collective decision not to disappoint families who had come to celebrate the festive season with us.

So everyone pulled together.

It wasnโ€™t perfect. We made a few mistakes along the way (as you do). But every stall we planned opened, every smile mattered, and the fair happened because people stepped up when it counted.

We are delighted to share that this yearโ€™s events raised an incredible amount for our school:

  • The Christmas Fair raised ยฃ1,173 โ€” a wonderful increase on last year thanks to the massive efforts of our volunteers and everyone attending.
  • Eldridgeโ€™s raised ยฃ1,352 this year โ€” again an improvement on 2024 due to the generosity and energy of our community.

Since the start of the new school year, nearly ยฃ10,000 has been raised by our community.

Every pound raised goes straight back into supporting school activities, resources, and experiences that benefit all our childrenโ€” which is exactly what the Boldmere PTA is all about.

The year-on-year increases show just how much can be achieved when families, volunteers, and supporters come together with a shared purpose.

Both increases are a testament to how much can be achieved when we pull together. Thank you to every family, volunteer, visitor, and supporter โ€” you made this possible! โค๏ธ

What made this event especially special was seeing new volunteers get involved. Many helped for the first time, did a fantastic job, andโ€”most importantlyโ€”enjoyed themselves. Thatโ€™s what volunteering should feel like: welcoming, shared, and genuinely rewarding. We hope many of them will join us again.

The festive season is about givingโ€”but not just gifts. Itโ€™s about time, kindness, and community. Volunteering is one of the simplest ways to give something meaningful, and this fair was a brilliant example of what can happen when people say โ€œI can helpโ€ rather than โ€œsomeone else willโ€.

Elfridgeโ€™s was a particular highlight again this year. It ran smoothly, was well supported by families, and created a lovely experience for the children โ€” all made possible by careful planning and a fantastic team of volunteers behind the scenes.
