From Fireworks to Fairy Lights: Christmas Planning Is Under Way 🎄✨

With another fantastic Fireworks Night behind us, we’ve officially swapped sparklers for fairy lights and are now fully into planning for the Christmas period.

Fireworks is one of our biggest events of the year – it takes weeks of preparation and a huge combined effort from school staff and volunteers. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it happen, from planning and setup to serving food, selling tickets and staying to the very end to pack down.

But there’s no long pause in the PTA calendar…
Now it’s time for all things Christmas. 🎅🎁

What’s Coming Up This Christmas

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be focusing on a series of events designed to bring some festive magic to the children and their families, including:

🎁 Elfridges – the Children’s Christmas Shop

Our much-loved Elfridges shop will be returning, giving children the chance to:

  • Choose gifts for family members
  • Have them wrapped by our Elfridges “elves”
  • Take them home as a surprise

It’s a lovely way for children to feel independent and generous, while raising funds for the school at the same time.

🎄 Christmas Fair

We’re also busy planning our Christmas Fair, with:

  • Stalls, games and activities
  • Food and refreshments
  • Festive music and decorations
  • (And of course) plenty of chances to win or buy something fun!

It’s one of those events where the school really comes alive – children racing between stalls, parents chatting over a drink, and plenty of festive chaos in the best possible way.

🎅 Santa’s Grotto

Santa will be making a special visit to school again this year in our Santa’s Grotto.
Children will be able to:

  • Visit Santa
  • Have a quick chat and share their wishes
  • Receive a small gift to take home

Details on how to book will be shared soon so families can plan ahead.

How You Can Get Involved

As always, none of this happens without volunteers.

In the run-up to Christmas, there are lots of ways to help, even if you only have a small amount of time:

  • Helping set up or tidy away after an event
  • Wrapping gifts for Elfridges
  • Running or supporting a stall at the Christmas Fair
  • Donating raffle prizes, gifts or baked goods
  • Sharing event information with friends and family

A little help from lots of people makes a huge difference.

If you’d like to get involved, even in a small way, please use the volunteer sign up for our Christmas Events or for more general volunteer interest you can sign up here.

A Busy Term, A Big Impact

We know this time of year is incredibly busy for everyone – at work, at home and at school. As a PTA, we’re very conscious that all of this is powered by volunteers giving their time around everything else they have going on.

That’s why we want to say a genuine thank you:

  • To those who helped at Fireworks and are still recovering!
  • To those already signed up for Christmas events
  • And to those who can’t help in person but support by attending, donating or simply spreading the word

Together, we’re creating memories the children will carry with them long after they leave the school – from standing in awe under the fireworks to excitedly choosing gifts at Elfridges.
